As 2014 begins, I took a moment to reflect on my past three years of service on the Mesa City Council. My time on council has been one of the most intrinsically rewarding experiences of my life and I have appreciated the opportunity to serve a community that has been home to five generations of my family and that I love so much. I have had the great privilege to work with the one of the best and most successful Mayors and City Councils that Mesa has ever had. With so many success stories these past few years have been an exciting time for City of Mesa and me.
For 25 years Mesa has been my home and my recent experience serving on the Mesa City Council has been the opportunity of a lifetime. I am passionate about Mesa's future and, in keeping with that spirit, I am excited to announce that I will run for reelection to the Mesa City Council in District 4. It would be an honor and a privilege to continue to serve the residents of District 4. I am humbled by the outpouring of support in letters, emails, and calls from many people encouraging me to continue on in public service because of my efforts on behalf of the district over the last three years.
I am pleased and deeply grateful that my friend Steve West, a partner at Udall Shumway, who has been strongly involved in Mesa, will serve as Campaign Chair for my reelection. I am also honored to have Dean and Florene Brinkerhoff and Pat Esparza serving as Honorary Chairs for my reelection campaign. As we begin 2014, I would be deeply honored to have your support and endorsement for my reelection. I am looking forward to a great 2014 and with your support, being reelected to the Mesa City Council on August 26, 2014 and able to continue serving the residents of District 4.
